TRILLA JERMAINE TRILLOSKI: THE COME UP

Trilla, hailing from Birmingham, started his musical voyage with a strong affinity for instruments and hip-hop, fostered by collecting tapes and learning the saxophone. This passion was further ignited upon encountering UK Garage through pirate radio stations like Passion FM, drawing inspiration from legends such as Zola & Viper.

Christmas one year brought a pivotal turn in Trilla’s journey with the gift of turntables, marking the beginning of his explorations as a DJ, orchestrating sessions where friends would witness selections. The post-high school era saw the start of Messy Organisation in 2003, a music collective founded alongside Nado. This collective began etching their mark in the music scene, recording sets at Oxygen Rooms, with Trilla simultaneously carving a niche for himself through his entrepreneurial acumen by selling mix CDs by the thousands.

The trajectory of Trilla’s career took a significant leap forward as he ventured into the studio with Emvee, recording a track over a Fedde Le Grande beat that resonated within Birmingham. This laid the groundwork for his mixtape, More Than Grime, which embraced party vibes rooted in his Grime foundations. It was during this time that the G-Star phrase, initially used by Trilla in his Grime sets, became synonymous with his name, leading to the creation of “G-Star” with Aycee. This track’s widespread acclaim in the Bassline scene was a testament to Trilla’s influence.

DJ Apostle requesting a Dubplate of “G-Star”, amplified Trilla’s stature in the Bassline domain, leading to numerous bookings. Joining the Revelations collective under Apostle’s mentorship, Trilla expanded his musical repertoire, collaborating with various producers, & securing his legacy in Birmingham. “Etap Riddim,” emerged as a viral sensation, embodying Apostle’s strategic vision & marking another significant moment in the Bassline scene.

Embracing every wave of the UK Underground scene, from UK Funky to Grime’s resurgence, Trilla’s relentless creativity & performances have solidified his status as a Bassline legend, continuously redefining the genre’s boundaries & securing his place in the hall of fame.
